OUR HISTORY

New Song began in 1990 with 25 people together in a small living room. Pastor Steve and Joyce never intended to start a church. In fact, Steve was adamantly opposed to the idea. It wasn’t until 1992 that he submitted to the idea when Pastor Jon Bowers and the Christ Center Eldership ordained him as pastor.

Steve and Joyce’s original vision for meeting was to encourage people who were disillusioned with Church. The goal was to see people healed up and planted in local churches in the community. While a lot has changed over the years, many of the same values and principles that built New Song are still in place and continue to guide our church.

We believe that church is to be a relevant and meaningful place where you can meet with a community of believers for support and involvement in the purposes of God. Church at New Song is more than a religious service, it’s relational, where true lasting relationships are formed, and ministry happens.

We have found that when people are looking for a church, God wants to be involved in the process. The Bible tells us that He is the one who builds the Church. When we listen, He will speak to us about where He would have us attend. The best Church in town is the Church of His choice. We may not have everything you’re looking for but if it’s where God puts you then it’s the best church in town.

If you have never visited New Song, we welcome you to join us for a weekend service. We encourage you to plan on visiting 2 or 3 times to get acquainted with who we are. We hope that on this site you have found answers to questions you may have about God, life and church. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. It would be an honor to serve you in any way we can.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We know it can be a little intimidating to visit a church for the first time. Our desire is for everyone to feel greeted and welcomed amidst our multigenerational congregation. You may not find us to be what you’re used to.

You’ll find vibrant praise and worship, faith-driven prayer, prophecy, inspirational preaching and teaching, healing, deliverance, and personal ministry can all be a part of any given service. We genuinely like to meet new people, because we never know our next best friend might be you coming through the door! Welcome home!

What to wear?

New Song attendees wear everything from jeans and t-shirts to polos and khakis, even shorts and flip flops. You are free to wear whatever makes you the most comfortable, as we want you to feel right at home as we come together as a church.

What about my children?

We have a self-service nursery with audio available to hear the sermon. We provide an attended nursery for infants and toddlers, pre-kindergarten classes for ages 3 to 5, and children’s church for ages 6 to 11. The youth aged 12-18 find their instruction pressure free, real, and genuine. Children are free to stay in service for praise and worship and are released to class afterwards.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Scripture

We believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given (II Timothy 3:16; I Corinthians 2:13).

One God Existing in Three Persons

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14).

Creation

We believe in the creation, test, and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; man’s total spiritual depravity and inability to attain to divine righteousness (Romans 5:12, 18).

Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6).

Christ’s Death and Resurrection

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25).

Christ’s Ascension and Return

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Salvation By Grace Through Faith

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12; Romans 5:11).

Water Baptism

We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:36-39; 19:1-6).

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Sprit as an experience subsequent to salvation, with the Scriptural evidence; namely, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in I Corinthians 12-14, manifested in the Early Church.

Spirit-Filled Life

We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith (Ephesians 5:18; II Corinthians 6:14; 7:1).

Healing of the Body

We believe in the healing of the body by divine power, or divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14).

Communion

We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers (I Corinthians 11:23-32).

Eternal Life

We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers (Mark 9:43-48; II Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15).

Satan and His Judgment

We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15).

Jesus replied,
“I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
-John 3:3
Salvation In Christ Alone

We believe that salvation is in Christ alone. Romans 10:9 states, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Once salvation has occurred there is a process in which you “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Phillipians 2:12). Upon salvation you must begin a journey with the Lord Jesus and walk with Him step by step, wherever He leads you, until you go home to be with Him for eternity.
